Yankees catcher Jorge Posada has a bruised ring finger and is day to day after taking a foul tip off his gloved hand during New Yorks 9-2 victory over the Texas Rangers.
Posada took the foul ball off his mitt during the eighth inning Wednesday night and immediately began shaking his hand. He wandered out near the mound and consulted with a trainer and manager Joe Girardi before leaving the game.
Girardi said X-rays were negative.
Posada said it was the same finger that he hurt earlier this season and doesnt know how long hell be out. He was already scheduled to have a day off Thursday.
Alex Rodriguez had a bruised left foot after fouling a ball off it in the seventh. He remained in the game at third base another half inning before being removed.
