PITTSBURGH 7, FLORIDA 4

PITTSBURGH The Florida Marlins went from being very hot to very cold during only three days in Pittsburgh.

Adam LaRoche had four hits and little brother Andy LaRoche drove in a pair of runs, leading the Pirates to a 7-4 victory over Florida and a three-game sweep of what previously was the majors hottest team.

Florida began the series with an 11-1 record, a seven-game winning streak and a 6-0 road record, only to be outscored 18-6 while being swept in a three-game series by Pittsburgh for the first time since May 30-June 1, 2005.

ARIZONA 2, COLORADO 0

PHOENIX Dan Haren pitched seven sharp innings for his first win this season and Ryan Roberts pinch-hit single broke a scoreless tie, leading the Arizona Diamondbacks over the Colorado Rockies 2-0.

Haren and Colorados Jorge De La Rosa matched shutout innings until the seventh, when Chris Young singled off De La Rosa, went to second on Chris Snyders single and scored on Roberts single.

It was the second major league RBI for Roberts, playing in his 26th career game.

Arizona went up 2-0 when reliever Jason Grilli issued a bases-loaded walk to Conor Jackson on a 3-2 pitch with two outs.

Roberts hit made a winner of Haren (1-3), who had pitched in hard luck this year. He allowed six hits and two walks, striking out nine.

SAN FRANCISCO 1, SAN DIEGO 0 (10 INNINGS)

SAN FRANCISCO Bengie Molinas pinch-hit double with two outs in the 10th inning drove in Andres Torres to give the San Francisco Giants a 1-0 win over the San Diego Padres.

Torres hit a one-out single off Edwin Moreno (0-2) and stole second. After Eugenio Velez struck out, Moreno intentionally walked Fred Lewis before Molina hit a ground-rule double that bounced over the wall in left-center.

Brian Wilson (1-0) pitched two shutout innings for the win and the Giants finished 4-1 on their homestand after losing six straight on the road.

The Giants managed only four hits, but two came in the 10th. San Francisco won despite scoring fewer than three runs for the fifth time in six games.

ATLANTA 1, WASHINGTON 0

WASHINGTON Kelly Johnson drew a bases-loaded walk from Mike Hinckley in the ninth inning, lifting the Atlanta Braves to a 1-0 victory over the Washington Nationals.

The Braves won for the second time in seven games. The Nationals, who took the first two games of the three-game series, dropped to 3-11the worst record in the majors.

The game was scoreless through eight, with Jair Jurrjens pitching 7 2-3 innings for Atlanta and John Lannan seven for Washington.

Matt Diaz singled with one out in the ninth against Garrett Mock (0-1) and was forced at second on Casey Kotchmans grounder. Mock walked Jordan Schafer before Hinckley issued free passes to pinch-hitter Martin Prado and Johnson.

MILWAUKEE 3, PHILADELPHIA 1

PHILADELPHIA Braden Looper pitched six scoreless innings, Mike Cameron hit a two-run double and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Philadelphia Phillies 3-1.

J.J. Hardy had a solo homer for the Brewers, who snapped a six-game losing streak against the Phillies in the regular season. Philadelphia beat Milwaukee 3-1 in a first-round playoff series last fall.

Looper (2-0) allowed five hits and walked two. Mark DiFelice and Carlos Villanueva each tossed a perfect inning and Todd Coffey pitched out of trouble in the ninth to earn his second save.

ST. LOUIS 5, NY METS 2

ST. LOUIS Joel Pineiro carried a six-hitter into the ninth inning and Albert Pujols had two hits and two RBIs in the St. Louis Cardinals 5-2 victory over the New York Mets.

Joe Thurston and Skip Schumaker had an RBI apiece for the Cardinals, who will go for a three game sweep Thursday with Kyle Lohse opposing Livan Hernandez. St. Louis has won nine of 12 since a 1-2 start.

Mets starter John Maine (0-2) matched his career worst with five walks. He left with the bases loaded and two outs in the sixth, with the Cardinals ahead 5-1. Maine has a 7.47 ERA with nine walks in 15 2-3 innings.

CINCINNATI 3, CHI CUBS 0

CHICAGO Johnny Cueto pitched seven scoreless innings, Jay Bruce homered in the ninth inning and the Cincinnati Reds beat the Chicago Cubs 3-0.

Joey Votto had an RBI double in the eighth inning and Cueto also had two hits for the Reds, who ended the Cubs three-game winning streak.

Cueto (1-1) gave up four hits and walked three. He retired his last seven batters and left after throwing 108 pitches.

Despite the loss, Cubs starter Ted Lilly (2-1) was sharp again. After carrying a no-hitter through 6 2-3 innings on April 13 in a 4-0 win over Colorado in the Cubs home opener, Lilly pitched seven solid innings, allowing one unearned run and five hits. He had two strikeouts and did not allow a walk.

HOUSTON 6, LA DODGERS 5

HOUSTON Ivan Rodriguez drove in the go-ahead run after a mishap on an intentional walk, and the Houston Astros beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-5.

Hunter Pence doubled in the eighth inning before Los Angeles ran into some trouble trying to intentionally walk Geoff Blum. Ronald Belisarios throw to Russell Martin bounced off the edge of the catchers glove, and Pence advanced to third as Martin rolled in the dirt trying to chase it down.

Blum walked before Rodriguez singled to center, scoring Pence.

Lance Berkman tied it earlier in the inning with a solo home run off Belisario (0-1) that ricocheted off the wall in left field.

Chris Sampson (1-0) gave up a run in two innings for the win.
