Backup catcher Mike Redmond wont return to Twins for 2010 season
Twins general manager Bill Smith confirmed Friday what has been assumed for much of the offseason — the ballclub will not bring back veteran catcher Mike Redmond for the 2010 season, ending the 38-year-olds five-year tenure with the team.

Mets, Coste and Blanco agree to 1-year contracts
The Mets agreed to one-year contracts with Chris Coste and Henry Blanco, adding two backup catchers Thursday while they search for a starter.
The 36-year-old Coste hit .224 with two homers and 18 RBIs in 205 at-bats last season with Philadelphia and Houston. He has a .272 batting average, 23 homers and 108 RBIs in 806 [...]
